Best type/brand to use?

Thanks

Best place to mount the sending unit is in the head, behind the thermostat. If you can't find a hole for the sending unit int he head, the next best place is in the upper radiator hose between the radiator and the thermostat housing. Others have been able to modify the thermostat housing itself to allow the sending unit for a temp gauge to mount there.

I am partial to Autometer electric sending unit gauges. Others prefer mechanical gauges for reliability and accuracy, but they can be trickier to install and route the capillary tube for the gauge.
