putting this out as an FYI, to see if anyone else has used this product.

When I 100% restored the 1983 D150 a few years ago, as a sound and heat insulator I used microspheres mixed into oil based enamel paint. Brushed it inside the doors, inside the fenders and on the firewall.

here is a link to the site that I purchased the microspheres from
Insulating Paint Additive Makes Paint Insulate

http://hytechsales.com/insulating_paint_additives.html

I am in the process of doing a complete underside renew on the 68 Barracuda.
new floors from the firewall back to and including the trunk.
I am considering using the microspheres mixed into the Tractor Supply implement paint and
either brushing or spraying that on the underside of the floor panels and frame rails.

here is info on the Tractor Supply paint:
Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamel, Matte Black, 1 gal. at Tractor Supply Co.

https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/produ ... lack-1-gal

the bottom side of the new panels will need paint anyway and the TS oil enamel + MS should be superior to the latex based Lizzard Skin for durability as well as less expensive. Will also weigh less than lining the inside floor with a product like Dynamat.

Don't think you can spray it as the spheres could be larger than the sprayer orifice...……….

concerning spray painting with paint that has the microspheres

this is from the FAQ section

Question: Can I spray paint with the ceramics in the paint?
Answer: Yes! Simply remove all filters from your spray equipment (or they will strain out the additive) and use a slightly larger spray tip than normal. Recommended tip sizes are .019 - .025.

Great job, DadTruck, most of the expensive products out there are simply simple cheap materials added together and marked up out the whazoo....good share.

brian

P.S. How do you spell "whazoo"? I'm pretty sure that's not correct.
