Post subject:  1964 Valiant Wagon Rear Window Hardware

I'm trying to get the rear window working in my Valiant wagon, but it looks like I'm missing some hardware. The rear window is in place, but the regulator and crank are not installed. The previous owner replaced the original tailgate with one that was less rusty, and it looks like he never finished assembling it. The tailgate itself opens and closes fine, and I have the interior panel which goes in place after everything is reassembled. I also have the old rusty tailgate with its own glass; it looks otherwise identical and is also missing the window crank hardware.

I have a regulator with a single arm, but it doesn't fit into either of the slots on the bottom of the window. The rear window in the tailgate actually has two slots, and lifting it up by one side cocks it diagonally, so I'm pretty sure the mechanism should have two arms that come up together. I also have two window cranks with keyed locking cylinders, but the inside of each one looks different. One matches the splines on the regulator I have, and the other has a sort of D-shaft on the inside. They both look like they will match the exterior mounting holes on the tailgate. I also found the pictured trim ring in the box of hardware that came with the car, but I'm guessing it's not related.

So my first question is what am I missing? Is this regulator even correct for the application? What about the crank with no splines? There's no place on the interior for a window crank once the closeout panel is in place.
