Hello Slant 6 Racers and Friends, as was discussed at the Banquet last weekend, here is the 2018 East Coast Racing Schedule:


Race Weekend 1: Mo-Kan Dragway Asbury, MO - Race Coordinator: Team Green
8th annual Slant 6 Springnationals - ****EVENT RESCHEDULED FOR May 12****
Event complete. Congratulations Rob Simmons

Race Weekend 2: Mason Dixon Dragway, Boonsboro, MD - Race Coordinator: Rick Covalt- ****EVENT RAINED OUT. **** ONE MAKE UP RACE FOR THIS EVENT AT MOTORMILE IN JUNE, ONE MAKE UP EVENT AT WILKESBORO IN JULY
Make up Race at Motormile Complete. Congratulations Jack Everhart Jr.
Make up race at WIlkesboro Complete. Congratulations Ron Hamby

Race Weekend 3: Motor Mile Dragway, Fairlawn, VA - Race Coordinator: Lou Madsen - June 16-17 - Sat/Sun - Both Days 1/8th Mile Racing. Also test'n'tune Friday June 15. ****Third race added to the weekend as a Mason Dixon Makeup race.****(motormiledragway.com)

Race Weekend 4: Wilkesboro Dragway, Wilkesboro, NC - Race Coordinator- Ron Hamby- July 20th/21st - Fri/Sat - Empire Chrysler Show Saturday Morning then Race. Both Days 1/8th Mile Racing.

Race Weekend 5: Knoxville Dragstrip, Maynardville, TN - Race Coordinator- Gary Bruner- Fri/Sat Night Races. Both Days 1/8th Mile Racing.

Race Weekend 6: Mountain Park Dragway, Clay City, KY Racer's Reunion - Race Coordinator- Rob Simmons September 7th/8th/9th - TNT Friday evening, Races Sat/Sun - Saturday 1/4 Mile Racing, Sunday 1/8 Mile Racing.

Hi Folks,

I am in negotiations with Motormile Dragway in Fairlawn, VA to have a 2-day race there June 16-17, to fill out our schedule. They are excited and my contact just needs to check with another manager and we can iron out details. I should know for sure by the end of this week. There is Friday t'n't as well. Fingers crossed...

Great little 1/8th mile track, camping and showers, 25 min from my house. I can host several/many people at our house and we can have some fun here even besides the racing!

The track was packed last night, so that is great. Folks got a kick out of Project V. Ran 8.80s/8.90s at 77 MPH, so that's nice. Car feels good.

Motormile Dragway June 16-17 Race confirmed! (Fairlawn, VA)

Please contact Lou Madsen (540-818-8712 or PM on this site) for info about this race.

We will do Slant 6 bracket races on Saturday and Sunday ($30 entry each day), and there will be test'n'tune Friday eve June 15 ($25 to race, $10 spectator).

I have a number of beds/rooms I can offer at my house for those who want a place to stay. Camping is allowed at the track and there are some showers there also. Not sure about RV hook-ups, but some power outlets are there for sure.

Track info:
US Route 11, off Interstate 81, two miles south of Radford, VA.
Address: 6749 Lee Highway, Fairlawn, VA 24141

$400 purse for each day of racing, probably more.

Just to be sure, it is Saturday and Sunday? I know several of us were hoping for a Friday / Saturday race.

It is Saturday June 16 and Sunday June 17. They preferred that. We can ask about future race formats during/after the race.

I think it is fine for now - It replaced a Sat / Sunday that was 2 hours further drive for us PA boys.

We can revisit it to see what we like.
Wilkesboro as well as Knoxville will be a Friday / Sat event.

The aborted Knoxville races have been rescheduled to 27 October. We will run both races that day (Saturday).

Just looked at the Knoxville Dragstrip schedule, and it says slant six Fri and Sat. Someone please clarify
