Thanks for the feedback fellas! It's been a while so I thought I'd get caught up...
I the span of a week my heater blower switch and headlight switch quit working. I was afraid the two may be related to a bigger electrical problem, but turns out it was just a coincidence.

The headlight switch was crusty-dusty and corroded. RockAuto had both of these (used the discount code, thanks) and they were "pretty easy" to replace.

More recently, I dove into adjusting the valve lash for the first time in a long while. I've always used the instruction on the Engine FAQ by SSD as a guide and made up these gauge assemblies to make keeping up with the three different sizes easier.

Upon completion of the lash adjustment, I installed some chrome goodies that the the kids got me for Christmas!

I also added my custom stiletto knife oil dipstick that I fabbed up a while back. I think it goes well with the shiny stuff. :lol:

Nice.. Wouldn't want to check the Oil in a a dark alley without a flashlight... Ouch.

p.s. What did your buddy weld the steel to cast Iron?

I might be interested in trying that sometime if I have the equipment to do so...

Haha! Thanks Greg. I’ll at least use a Harbor Freight FWP headlamp when checking oil in the dark. I cant help but say “schhhwing!” when I draw out the dipstick with that handle the way it is! :lol:

On the welding, when asked he described the process just as Doc does in the exhaust manifold modification article; heat the work, high nickel content welding rod, slow cool down. Hearing that I knew it had a good chance to turn out okay. I dropped it off late one day after work, it was welded up the next morning and I got it that day on my way home. It was still cooling off at that point.

That intake is just about the same as one I did back in the '70's. However I attached my plate using a "spray welding" technique.
Used equipement similar to this.

We recently got new F150s at work. Last week we had aftermarket bumper/grille guards installed. From one of the takeoffs I harvested the plastic lower valance/air dam. With a little modification I think it will fit the Dodge pretty good.
What do you think?

I think Lou has done that on every car/ Van he owns. Unrolling the top 6" or so of a plastic trash can yields the same effect.

I might do one of those treatments in the future on the Grüne Hölle Project.

Wow! Time flies.
Pics of the split manifold that I've been working on.
Recently I got my hands on another old manifold. It had the flapper seized up so I harvested the front three legs and the outlet.

I had a rear half section that I cut a while back. I also cut off the choke thermostat pocket since I don't use it.

No, I won’t be doing the welding. Once everything is fitted up and Ready to go I’ll take it to a friend who’s the foreman at a local shop, he’ll weld it up good using the correct materials and process.
He’s the one that welded up my parallel two barrel intake.

I've about got my exhaust manifold pieces ready for the welding shop. The thing that gave me the most grief was matching the outlet contour to the shape of the manifold. I think it's close enough.

The 3/16" x 3" strap just had to be cut to the proper width after cleaning it up with a wire brush. I got the ends to be capped off good and flat for these.
