I've been looking for a while to get a Valiant. I was determined to get a manual trans and I wanted a driver.

Bought this one out of Fresno and I couldn't be happier. Then my friends came through with a matching sign!

Let me know if the link works.

Neat Car.

Have fun with it!
That Shade of red Must have been popular in 60 / 61 - I have seen a lot of cars recently with that shade.

The 3 on the floor must be more of a rare piece too. Most That I have seen had the 3 on the tree.

Very cool! Welcome to the Slant 6 Valiant land!

I have seen more early Valiants with 3 on floor vs. 3 on tree. No idea what build numbers were.

I am sure you have seen more than I have!

Very nice car!
Rubber floor mats are very hard to replace, take good care of what is in the car.
No one I know reproduces it.
You might contact Legendary Interiors to see if they want to use yours to duplicate.
Does yours have the stainless steel windshield moldings?
Early '60 models did.
Maybe yours is an early serial number car.

Good score on the sign to boot!

Sweet Car, I also have a 1960 V200 3 speed manual, white with blue interior. '60 and '61's got the manual trans shifter on the floor. 1962 manuals trans were 3 on the tree.

Estimated production numbers are in the 180,000-190,000 range. I cannot find a break down of V100-V200 and wagons built.

No stainless trim. Mylar covered locking strip that has been baked in the sun.

It was manufactured in Jan. of '60. Service station door sticker shows 63,000 in 1968.
Odometer read 78,000 today.

Red was only offered on the V200. This is a respray and is VERY oxidized and looks like primer. Starting the process of bringing it back.

No rust in this car at all! Will get it out in the weather here pretty soon and see how the seals hold.

Got a few more bugs to work out then it will be good to go.

I love it.

Does not Look like primer to me.
My 64 Dart Had some old Tired Earl Schieb Type coating on it. - a few resprays and old filler and body work underneath it. A bit of polish work and it shines. It does oxidize within 3 weeks but it's fine.

I dont recall seeing a two-tone dash like that before. Very nice. My 61 has rubber mats but the jute underneath them is trashed and the rubber is super brittle. But, with just 28k on it, I have been trying to keep it as original as possible.
