I store a parts car at a friends. I can pay him to remove parts on the car for me.

The 78 Cordoba has a big block and likely has bigger bars than my 95# bars.

The bigger bars would likely be the #100 bars.

Is the difference worth spending $75 and some time to install?

95# to 100# would not be worth changing, but I bet the difference is bigger than that.

Maybe your friend can put a caliper on them before removing? I guess it's better than no change and it is possible you could notice a difference.

A small diameter change makes a big difference.

The stiffness increase is to the 4th power.

A 1.1" diameter bar would be (1.1 / 1.0)^4 or 1.4641 times stiffer than a 1.0" bar
(if the 1.0" bar was 100lbs, the 1.1" would be 146lbs)

Yep, well aware of the 4th power dependence. Thanks, Ed. In this case, it's a very small diam difference and he gets a 5% rate increase.
