Is this a recommended part for 64 Darts?

Are there better Options or is this one good?

There are better (and more expensive) options, but that's the one I have on my 64' Dart LeMons racer. The only real downsides to it are the crappy mounting brackets. I think Lou is the one I saw in an old thread talking about how to improve the mounting situation.

That looks the same as the others.

You will need to re engineer the K mounts, ( 2 pieces of angle)

That looks like the same mounting brackets and instructions that Addco had in 1989-1990 when I bought my first one for my 68 Dart, and again in 1998 when I bought the second one for the 64 Dart. Ugh.

If you can spend that, then spend a few extra bucks, save 5-8 lbs (tubular), and get better mounting brackets.

I just put one of these (for later Dart) on my 68. I still had to mess with the brackets a bit (weld/shim/adjust), but the hardware was so much better than the Addco stuff.

Here's the addco fix:

Addco just uses the bottom bolting (angle iron bolted to K-member,bottom A/R mount to angle iron). The fix is to also bolt at top as shown.

Anybody else out there an AvE fan?

Greg, I met you briefly at Mason Dixon. I was the tall guy who mistook you for a dude I was supposed to meet who called his car the "Ruster" also.. Turns out he didn't have it written down the side of his door. I didn't put two and two together until I saw your screen name later that night.
