(I tried to use the "search", but couldn't make it work.) Does anyone recall a solution for the annoying rattle from the front disc brakes during normal driving over rough streets? 75 Dart, all fresh bushings & ball joints. Definitely the brake calipers, as noise stops with slight drag on brake pedal.

Did you compress the tabs on the outer pads that clamp them to the caliper?

Yeah most of the time you have to peen the tabs over to fit the pads to the caliper properly (similar to making sure that the rear brake shoes conform to the brake drum)... you can also add some brake RTV that keeps the rattle and squeal down as it has a cushion between the piston face and the pad... if all else fails Mopar used to put a rubber band to help with anti-rattle around the sheet metal tabs that were installed over the caliper clips but under the retaining bolts...

Thanks. I've been schooled, as I didn't know that the fit of the clips was an issue. I'll revisit that the next time I have the car up on stands.
