Post subject:  A Small Tire Question

In my buildup for the 4 speed swap, I'm considering changing the rear end too--after all, 2.76 is not the best match for a 0.73 overdrive.

Now when I got the car, it had 205/75-14s, on the original narrow SBP wheels. Last year I did a disc brake conversion on the front, so the front is now BBP. Even without the transmission swap, I want to make the rear BBP to match, so I don't have to carry two spares. I figure it would be best to do this while already messing with the axle ratio, though not sure whether to change the whole rear end or not. (I would certainly prefer to, however.)

So, the three BBP wheels I got for the front, which I'll get two more of once the rear is BBP, were wider than the old ones, at 14x6. So, if I decided to try 215/70-14s, would there be any clearance problems? I'm sure they'd fit the wheels, but is there any chance they'd rub against the fender or control arms?

215 is not real big, I would think on stock offset factory rims you should be ok. You might have to trim some of the trim but I really don't think so. However, advice is what you pay for it! Good luck. I had good results with a 2.93 and the od box.
