I searched all over, but I can't find any info on the correct upper steering column bearing. I disassembled my steering column to replace the ignition switch, and I noticed that the rubber around the bearing was ragged. I took the bearing out and cleaned it up and regressed it, but it sure has a lot of slop. Any ideas? It's for my 1984 D100 without tilt wheel. |

I have looked, but have not found one anywhere. Been working on other things but would love to get mine replaced sooner rather than later due to the rattles and squeaking. Hopefully one of the sages on here will help out. I looked for numbers to see if Fastenal could cross it to another part number they could source but I could not read all the numbers. |

My bearing didn't have any numbers on it, and I'm sure it's long out of production. Hopefully someone has an idea. |

Thanks, guys! I'm afraid the part is out of production, but if I'm reading it right one from an early Jeep will fit. The tilt wheel bearing is a GM part and is different from the standard column. |

There is a local company, Bearing Headquarters, that bills themselves as specialists in bearings, either them or some similar company local to you may be able to cross reference a replacement bearing. |

Measure it (ID,OD, thickness)and see if you can match the dimensions to a common bearing. You might be able to make a common bearing size work with some shims for ID and/or OD differences. |

I've been out of work sick for the past week so I'm still catching up on my To Do list. The dimensions of the bearing are as follows: Inside Diameter: 3/4" Outside Diameter: 1 3/16" Thickness: 9/32" |

Thanks for the input; I may hit them up in the future. I was able to source a used part in good shape for the price of removing it myself. It didn't have any numbers on it, but it's not worn out so I'll be able to clean it up, regrease it, and plop it in. |
