Hello friends, it’s been awhile. Life hasn’t left much time for anything car related beyond basic maintenance, and for the most part my Dart has simply worked as it should (no surprises there...). Lately though it’s been making a disconcerting rattle over rough patches in the road. It’s something associated with the front right wheel. Seemingly more noticeable with downtravel than up, but that’s been hard to test for sure. Think bolt knocking about in too large of hole type sound.

The front end was gone through several years ago, though I’ve put a fair number of miles on it since. All old stock Moog stuff. I just replaced spindles and wheel bearings this week, and checked checked anything suspension and steering related that I could think of while I was under there. The Edelbrock IAS shock still has pressure. K-frame was completely welded years ago, so I’m ruling out a torn torsion bar socket.

The car handles great and rides fine, but the noise is driving me bonkers. I have a 5hr trip coming up on Sunday, so would greatly appreciate any thoughts of what else to look at?

(The car in question is a 76 Dodge Dart Swinger, disk brakes, 1” Firm Feel bars, Addco sway bar, boxed LCAs. Hopefully that’s all the pertinent info...)

Checked torque on the strut rod nuts? LCA bushings OK? Shock mount bolts tight? Ball joint nut tight? Wheel bearings OK?

I vote for brake caliper rattle first. Several of our '75 Darts have done it. (No "rubber bands".) Also check the splash shields on the front disc brakes for being bent and causing the rattle.
