Thursday afternoon I got wheels on, roughed in the toe and camber to get it to the alignment rack. Cass (Doc Diff) emailed about proper placement of neoprene nub, or pull out preventer. Had to remove the master and disconnect push rod from pedal. With master chucked up in a bench vice, removed a very reluctant push rod, striped off the old rubber ring on end of push rod and replace it with the neoprene part Doc included in kit. A second bench bleeding, and stuffed it all back in the car.

This morning I went for a test drive. Right front wheel was ribbing on fender well trim when wheels turned to left. Had to back off the adjustable strut rod a bit, and adjust front end ride height to clear trim. Right wheel looks to be an inch closer to foreword wheel opening compared to left side. Probably once aligned that spacing difference will be lessened. Car seems to be tighter, and brakes well balanced front to back. Still have a mussy pedal, must be some air trapped, so in a few days after pads seat in, I'll rebleed the system again.

Alignment appointment is at 2:00 pm Saturday...

Well I got the alignment done. It was a struggle for the 20 something lad the performed the work that had never seen a Mopar torsion bar suspension. I had the FSM on hand for him to follow, and after 1.5 hours he got it dialed in with a little help from his boss and me. The car had a problem with passenger's front tire contacting the SS trim around wheel well opening when turned to right. Had to remove the SS trim, and utilize a cut-off wheel to get it home.

For some reason that wheel seems to be forward an inch or so compared to driver's side. Today I took a pie shaped sliver out of the offending fender providing some addition clearance when wheel is turning right. Drove it 20+ miles over to my paint store for a custom mixed rattle can to blend in repair.

I have to measure wheel base on each side to figure out what is going on when someone is available to hold the other end of the tape. Or I could plum a line to floor from each wheel center, and figure it out that way; that will be tone of tomorrow's projects. Once I got enough clearance to be able to turn steering wheel stop to stop I took it for a ride. It goes down the road nicely with +3* caster with round tires, and tracks a lot better. Front end feels much tighter, almost all the front end, and tire noise is gone, just the purr of the engine and wind noise.

Today I bleed brakes again. Pedal is more firm, but still a bit mussy.

During test drive left front wheel locked up the other wheels did not. I suspect there is small amount of air in right front line.

In a few days I'll bleed them again.
