Hello all,
I currently have 195/70/14's tires on the car right now. The rims are the rally 14". Unfortunately, I don't know the width of the rim.

I want to put some new raised white letter tires on the car. I only know of Cooper selling these kind of tires. However, the minimum width is 215.

Anyone know the maximum width tire you can run a 65 Valiant? and perhaps where to buy the tires I'm looking for?

Thanks
'

215 mm is less than an inch wider than what you have now. You may need to roll the inner fenders a bit, but if the tires you have now don't look too wide for the rims, you'll probably be OK.

I ran 215/60-14s on rallys and they should fit fine. 215/70 might be a bit tall and require fender lip work, as mentioned above. If you can get 215/65-14 that would also work really well.

Those are a good choice for that car and those rims. The car will sit slightly lower as the diameter of those tires will be likely smaller than what you have on there. Not a problem. The handling should be substantially improved too, and the ride might be a skosh harder. I always think of 60 series (sidewall height) tires as being very good for handling, and anything more than that (like your 70 series) are more cushy and less responsive (and less safe).
