Post subject: slant 6 crank pulley bolt

I was starting a search for a crank pulley bolt; mine was missing on my 1970 d100's slant 6; or so I thought.
A guy on the swept line forum says that slant 6's never had a crank pulley bolt, which would explain why mine was missing.
Is this correct, and if so why did they not have a crank pulley bolt to hold the damper onto slant 6's?
