Does anyone know, was there a difference in the oil dipstick length on a slant 6, 170 vs 190 vs 225 ? Or were they all the same, just with different tubes?

Reason I am asking, I had to replace my dipstick, and I thought I found an old original, but if I put 5 quarts in, it goes about 1 inch beyond the FULL indicator. I am using the normal WIX filter btw.

Not sure if they were different for different engine displacements, but there were different length dipsticks over the years. Also different length tubes.

IIRC, the dipstick needs to be 9" longer than the length of the tube sticking out of the block.
