I understand the Carter 6537s was a standard 2-barrel carburetor on '74-'83 Dodge trucks. I've read good things about the later Carter carbs on this forum. Questions:

(1) Does anyone have experience running a matching pair of 6537s on a dual-carb intake?
(2) Short of actual experience, do folks have any opinions about how such a setup might behave?

(My search for "6537s" yielded this thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62251)

How much power you expecting?

Two Weber 34 ICH's with 29mm chokes are good for upwards of 200hp and is the setup I am contemplating. There are guys in Europe running them on old Ford V4's making 100hp with one of those carbs. The Weber carb book says the 29mm choke on a plenum manifold is good for 5k rpm peak power on half of a 225, more rpm on a 170/198.

If that isn't enough carb you can do two 32/36. Some people have problems setting those up because of the progressive nature of them. That can be remedied by buying a linkage that makes them open at the same time from Pegasus racing. There is still a racing class using those carbs to 140-150 hp on a pinto motor.

Weber carbs are a much better option than old Carters. Still made new and lots of jets and such for tuning. ICH has a power valve and lots of adjustment, it is a shame that they don't come in a size to replace the BBS.

That's my answer, right there. I'd better stick to 2x 1BBL; I'm expecting less than 200hp. Thank you!
