What is this?

Says it's for a gasser dragster blower?

That's cool! Nice find. Never seen that one before.

I'd like to know more about the history behind that one...

Keith Black built a lot of boat engines. A Hilborn injected short stroke slant would have been a formidable competitor in 3,000CC hydro.

I wish there was a way to drive a oil pump off that somehow.

Don't know if he'll be interested, but I passed the ad link along to Mr. K, who's trying to repop/restore Martin & Nelson's Dragmaster Dart when it had the slant in it.

That's pretty cool.
What happened to the guy that was making a finned aluminum slant timing cover?

Is that actually a Hilborn cover?

That's what I was thinking, but I don't handle the internet well enough to find out. Plus, the original injectors on the Dode/Martin car were a Hilborn developmental set.

I'd love to have that, if only for a mockup motor on an engine stand. It would look so correct with my Hilborn setup.

Must resist bidding!

That cutout looks like the perfect place to put a cam position sensor. Sadly, it's not in my current build's budget.

Supply, meet Demand. Demand, meet Supply. You two have a lot in common.

In order to understand why someone would pay $350 for that cover, you need to break down the reasons 'why'. The value of that cover is 95% nostalgia, 95% function, and 95% rarity. If you could do further research to establish that it had been used by Don Gartlits, that would add another 95%.
