OK, after being busy and having to figure out how to resize these images to where they will post here, I have the slant in the 2004 RX8 with a 2 3/16 plywood adapter and the new motor mounts on the RX8 front subframe and the Miata hydraulic rack installed.
Just to re-state the "Why". I was inspired by Uncle Tony on Youtube with his Miata slant swap. My goal is to have a unique car to take to the local shows. I want the swap to be extra clean so that most people would not realize the engine did not come in the car. I want airbags, electric windows, AC, etc.
I have ordered a Gill Welding EFI intake that I will be using with a Haltech ECU along with a Subaru 60mm throttle body and all modern electronics.
Eventually I will pull the engine back out and build a long rod, 2.2 turbo piston, mild smooth idling engine. No racing. I have read hundreds of posts here and greatly appreciate all of the wisdom here.
It will likely be another year before the car is running.
