I moved some threads to their proper Forum tonight. General engine questions went to the 'Engine' section, the 'Clifford' topic went to the 'Social Corner'. :D

Good Work...
Now if I install some junkyard back-up motor into my race car, is that a Race Q & A topic? :?

If it's in a race car and goes down a race track, yes. :D

Well then, here is the "donor engine" going into the race car.
I got a screaming deal on this mill, a kid at the local Pep Boys gave me the motor, he pulled it out of his 72 Dart to put a V8 in.
The engine was recently rebuilt, .020 on the bores, .010 / .010 on the crank... rebuilt in 2001.

Seeing the Hyper-pak engine in the race car was smoking blue and 'wetting' the #1 plug with oil, that engine came out.

With 2 more races coming-up fast, I did not change anything on the donor motor... I will run it "bone stock" with the 1 BBL and factory exhaust manifold.

I did drill and tap the oil gallery boss so I can screw-in my pressure gauge.

While I had the drill and tap out, also drilled the intake manifold for a few fogger nozzles... How fast do you think I can get this free motor to go??
Once I get the car tuned, I will take a putt by the local Pep Boys and see if the kid want's to race me with his now V8 Dart...

That person never got his V- 8 conversion running.
He took a good runnig SL6 car and turned it into a non-running V 8 "driveway monument".

Me... I got a "double-good deal" out of the SL6 engine he gave me... ran it for a couple of races, pulled it and ended-up installing it into a customer's street car, that had a rod knock... payday! :D

First vehicle I had a 250 Chev. in a stepside 66 with a three speed and posi, I said no three times to the buddy that smashed his moms 68 327 Impala while kissing a girl (I was in the car).
But they persisted and in a while there was one of those "monuments" in the driveway, truck was @ 60,000 or something, 1980.
