Just got home from Gateway, and Mike Jeffrey set the Slant world on it's ass this morning! With the temp at 92* and humidity of 38% Mike unloaded a 10:19@129!!!!!!!! We got out the power/speed calculator and if Mike and Blaine would put this combination in a 2000# car (say maybe an Arrow) it would have been a 9:53. Not too bad for a 2685# car with the aerodynamics of a brick.

Lost in the shuffle, but no less impressive was the 10:54 run by Mark Goodman tonight. Good job Team Green!

Allright Mike and Blaine! that is awsome. Looks like Doc & Seymour may have to start a 9 second club now.

WAY TO GO MIKE! On the ride back from Clay City Dad and I talked about how impressive that car was. He was running 12.5 without and 10.70-10.80 with. We both agreed then that he had a gooooood shot at running nines!

Congrats Mike great run! Also congrats to Goodman on his run!

Wow, The new "Fastest Slant Six on Earth" (or anywhere else) title goes to Mike Jeffrey with that 10.19 @129 pass. Well done Mike & Blaine.
(I kinda thought Charles Myers was getting a little worried about his long standing 10.31 record, there has been alot of "knocking on the door" from others for that record)

10.54 with no spray, another super-fast Slant car, Well done!
A 14 car turn-out at St. Louis is also great, I heard Ron Hamby won the bracket with Dale Rose runner-up, need to collect all the detals so we can pull together a race report. (see link below)
Thanks for the up-dates everyone, keep posting any new info you have and send PICs

I wonder if Charles will try to recapture his record at Richmond. Maybe with a 9 sec run?

Doug, I committed suicide in the first round and left. (Put a dial on the car that it wouldn't run if it fell off a cliff, drew Rodney Hargis......) I did get some pictures of some of the racers while it was still daylight though. I'll send them shortly. Dennis

Mike, what a run!
A 10.19 @ 129mph is bad no matter what your riding in. You know this is going to force me to change the oil and plugs in my car. Can anybody spare a twenty?

I got a case of oil you can have if you let me guide into the water box. You do run synthetic right??? ;)

Charles are you planning on going to TN?

Hey Charles i will buy you a wix filter for your car if it will help. I can see another match race here. Barbacue Charles against Cornhusker Mike This will be better than Possum and Bagel. You the Man latter Ron Parker.

There must have been a board failure or something. I didn't remember having that name on this board. I am still listed as Member #7 or so, it must not have been a total purge.

Kinda sad to see how many of those cars/members are no longer with us.

I did finally get rid of the green shorts.

I should have sent them to Mark for a seat cover in the Lancer.
