After reviewing... I think that the special timing cover I saw on that engine was to mount the fuel pump for the Hilborn injectors that the Dragmasters were using.

Isn't the one Bob has maybe the only one left of 3 that were made?

Mike has a crank trigger setup on the blue car, but it still distributes spark through a distributor.

Charles Meyer and Mark Goodman both had crank trigger coil pack ignitions.

I know Im digging up an old post here but after reading about Wilfords passing earlier this year Im stepping up my search for the coffee table engine he built and later sold to Bob Stepp. The last I heard it was sold and is in SoCal somewhere.
I also talked to Wilford (for a few hours) after calling everyone in Sothern Utah with the last name of Day. After 6 hours of calling people I found him and he was very excited to talk cars. He was eager to help me track down the coffee table engine and the Dragmaster engine due to me owning the original Hilborn off it.

He ended up dropping the Dragmaster engine into an Aston Martin. He sold the Aston, it changed hands a few times but I got ahold of the gentleman that currently owns it. He bought it with no engine from a broker that was selling it for a "recluse" who still has the engine sitting in a warehouse. I am working on getting it.

The coffee table engine is one of his old race engines that as he told me was dead and couldn't be saved. I am still VERY interested in finding and purchasing it if anyone knows the current owner.

Attached are a few of the pictures Wilford sent me. He was an awesome guy to talk to and always enjoyed talking about cars. Im just sad that I never got the chance to get back down to St. George and meet him in person. Unknown to me at the time, he only lived 10 mins. away from some friends of mine down there.
