Looking to put correct race markings on my car it's a 1963 valiant wagon
225 six supercharged with nitrous and automatic trans pump gas 93
Some of my research say Nhra changed over the the years so I would like
Late 60's and present if different

You will have to visit the track you will intend to race at... most tracks follow a certain protocol, like certain size numbers/letters on the front and back windows... then your dial, and if applicable the class you are racing in...

The local track may also have a 'book' with a list of numbers you can use, but will have to pay a fee for that number for the season... certain Divisions or pro classes retain certain banks of numbers and you will not be able to get a number in that range...some smaller tracks may not keep track of numbers if they don't have an official race as long as there is not another racer that has that number...

Maybe someone who races more locally can tell us the protocol for the tracks nearest you.

You are going to have fun....I can tell you that. :)

Sounds like a great car. Have you been in touch with Ron Heath and family yet? He is a long time Slant 6 racer in Maine.

Happy building,
Lou

Ok think I got this couple new questions ..

Weight of car is it with or without driver

Class letter C = under 3199lbs
Class letter D = over 3200lbs

Super charger uses letter U
Nitrous Uses letter N

Do you use both U and N if you run nitrous and a super charger ??

So my guess is D/U or D/UN

THANKS ALL

D/U would be proper.

"Unlimited" or "U" covers any combination of things that are not a simple nitrous or alcohol or gasoline motor. If you have turbo or supercharger + nitrous, it's a U car.
