Went 8:52@82 on the second time run. Made it back to the pits just in time for it to pour. By 4 o'clock they called today and tomorrow both. They were nice enough to give entry fees back. :D

I tried my trans brake today. It seems to work fine. 3400 rpm chip in the 2 step and it rewarded me with the exact same 60 foot time as when I footbrake it at 3400.

The fun part today was getting to pit with my old friends the Lyons family. Father, son, and grandson all racing together. I've known father Larry for over 45 years, and knew son Tony and grandson David since they were born. Larry races a '64 Falcon Sprint that he has had for 40 years. Tony has an '89 Mustang that he bought in '91. David has a 4.6 5 speed Mustang he's only had a few years, but he's only been driving a few years.

Ordered my new wheels and tires for the car this morning. Vision Sport Star II's and Hoosier tires. Went 26" tall on the fronts this time, and am trying 30X9 radial Stocker slicks.

Also trying to decide if I want to send the head down to the Mad Scientist for a freshen up. It can probably use it, but the car is running so good I hate to break the seal on the motor. Decisions, decisions.

The slippery slope has been reached... Glad to have you back, Dennis! I bet the head is fine for a while. Is John the Mad Scientist, or?

Thanks Lou. I find that I am really enjoying the car.

Went down and put the car away for the winter. Before I drained the water I fired it and warmed it up. Did a compression check just for fun. 185-190 on all 6, throttle closed.

This is supposed to be a 10-1 motor with way too much cam per Mike. Doesn't seem like it's bleeding off too much.

Supposedly my tires are here and will be mounted shortly. 5 months until season starts and I've got a turn-key car.

Doubtful. I also found a whole bunch of stuff that my house will need next year. I may have a running car and no money to race.

My focus next year will be on racing for points at RT 66. IF I have money I'll travel some, but don't make any big plans on me being anywhere.

Besides, at my age I need to make sure I can get decent money out of my house when I retire and move somewhere the weather doesn't suck 6 months a year.

Picked up the new wheels and tires today. Wasn't really sure about black wheels, but after seeing them in person I am quite fond of them.
