Stopped at the welding supply store to get some gas welding rod. While there, I asked the current price of nitrous. I was told they no longer sell to individuals. It seems like someone had an issue, and had an explosion, with serious injury. Being as the tank was from this company, they were involved in the lawsuit. Now they will only sell to a licensed business. They will deliver (no self pickup) to a business only (no residence), and the business must have a $1,000,000 business liability insurance policy.
I have seven full 10lb bottles, and some in my "mother" tank, so I am good for a little while. But I am going to have to find another supplier. This sucks, as I own my own tanks, and had been buying from the same company for about 15 years.

But seriously, I hope you can find another semi local supplier. I know some suppliers will not fill or exchange unless you buy their tanks.


It seems there is an airgas and a matheson near you. We have both of them 'round here too. They come in and buy out all the other independent gas stores..... for total gas domination.. muah, muah, muuuuaaah!

Hope you can find a new source Charlie. I haven't checked prices here in years. Last I heard they sold it at 41 for $7 a pound.

I haven't bought any since before COVID. At that time my big tank (I think about 68 lbs) was around $120-$130
EDIT: The supplier really helped me out with the tank, way back when. They somehow managed to "sell" me one, without me have to pay for it.

I have several sources for "retail" bottle filling, but can't afford those prices. Big difference between $2.00/lb and $8.00/lb. I get approx 3 runs per 5 lbs. Guess I need to start rebuilding my "Turbo engine.
