So, I haven't actually looked at a NHRA rules book for 2018, but maybe someone here knows. Is a 'locking dipstick' mandatory on automatic cars? I really don't want to get bounced somewhere for some small item such as this, but I would rather not buy one if it isn't required. -Matt |

I found the following 2018 ET quick reference chart online. http://promod.nhra.com/userfiles/file/T ... 0Chart.pdf According to this, it looks like 10.99 and quicker require the Transmission Locking-Type Dipstick. Am I looking at that right? |

Your good Matt. If you have to have one, then no one will be racing at Mason Dixon next month |

I have a Lokar setup on the 727 in my truck. It's nice, but very pricey. I bought the flex tube to get around a header tube. If you decide you want one, I believe Summit sells a locking stick that is for a T-350 that will work in a 904, and is gobs cheaper than a Lokar. But yeah, not required until 10:99. |

Wouldn't safety wiring the dipstick LOCK it in place? |
