That's a good woman in my book! You are a very fortunate man Rob, but I suspect you already know that.

The other cool benefit of winning IOE is you get a free team entry for another event! :D

Well,... It looks like we will be cashing in our free race entry at the "Shine Country Classic" @ Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, AL on 1-2 February 2020.

We will be racing the same '64 Valiant Signet owned by Jason Ernst. He replaced the clutch that won us the IOE last year and has been driving it on the street some.

It looks like the team this year will consist of:

Jason Ernst
Adam Portman
Lou Madsen
Kentucky Poser

Brian Mimken is tied up with a home remodeling job and can't get a Kitchen Pass.

ToadRacer development kinda sorta went on hold there for a bit while I moved yet again, so it ain't nowhere close yet.
I've been pulling stuff out of the way so we can actually get to the car again though. I am ready to move the "Dennis Duster" over to the other garage. That will make room for Adam's tube bender.

Adam plans to start back to work on the roll cage Saturday, so I guess I have until then to move the Duster...

I'll post some pics once we dig in again.

I’ll just be happy to race again.

I got the D Duster moved this evening.

It was a fairly productive weekend of ToadRacer development for a change.

I was able to get the garage cleared out enough for Adam to bring over and set up his tubing bender.

He was about to start bending the main roll cage bar when I said, "I'm gonna leave you to this. I'm gonna go see a movie with Joe."

So,... While Adam was slaving away bending tubes I met Genius Joe in Bowling Green for dinner and a movie (Ford versus Ferrari). We talked Slant quite a bit, so that's kinda related...

Here's Adam's main roll cage bar bent up and ready for trimmin' & tackin'...

We're gonna weld it in all leaned back like that, just cuz we're cool like that... 8)

Momentum is picking up again!

You give me confidence in the universe, Rob. Thanks to Adam and Joe and you for getting back on this. I am convalescing at my parents' place in WI for several days, then will be back in the garage after a 1-2 month hiatus.

Ford vs. Ferrari was inspiring for me. Whenever you get people dedicated to cause and they go for it....

Lou

It feels good to be getting back to work on ToadRacer. I was really feeling guilty about letting the team down. There is room to move in there now and progress is being made, so all is well in the universe again.

Going to a movie with Joe was fun too. We’re going to do that more often. Also starting to plan our road trip to get the rusty Valiant and maybe some of Joe’s parts in NC.

Another productive day on ToadRacer.

Adam has the main bar tacked in and was trimming the back bars when I left.

I got all four doors off and brought home to start “Adding Lightness”.

Weather and schedule permitting, I may be able to get a kitchen pass to come watch that thing in action (or inaction). I had a guy at work interested in making an entry with 2 of my kids but it all fell through.

We should be able to make a race or two in 2020.

I got the glass and mechanisms out of the four doors today. I got 15-22 pounds out of each door. Total weight loss so far is 69 pounds. Not bad for free. :D

I still need to scrape the undercoating and remove some brackets.
