Two types of clutches are available. 3 lever style and diaphragm style. Which one is best? 1978 d100 with slant six and 3 speed manual a230 trans.

Well, if you are looking at a Rockauto Calalog / website. that diaphragm unit is probably mislabeled or misapplied.

Either pressure plate will work fine in a stock application.

Usually for the slant 6, the diaphragm unit is a custom/aftermarket/ use of another oe application to fit onto the slant 6 flywheel. All of the factory OE slant 6 pressure plates would have been the 3-finger style.

What is your Flywheel ring gear tooth count?

That’s a good question Greg. I’m not really sure.

Post a picture of your bell housing/starter area or count the teeth on your flywheel.

Trucks did have a few bell housing/flywheel configurations from what I can tell.
