It would be the A833 6 speed. 4 speeds forward, One reverse, and in Neutral you got Zero speed.

I don't think there was a factory 5 speed for this engine.. at least not here in us/ canada.

The early dakotas might have 5 speeds but no slant 6's in those.

I would believe the listing is incorrect.

Its an 833 od.
3 forward gears that end with a 1:1 ratio then one overdriven gear at say ~.73:1 -.68:1.

1986 was the last year of the A833

You can only tell by physically checking it, D-150's typically got the NP435 top loader because the D-150 got the HD suspension vs. the D-100... D-100 typically got 3 speeds in base models, and the A-833OD in later models... there are some mix match in 1985-1987 where I've seen D-150's with the A-833OD, but the owners wouldn't let me inspect the data tag for corroboration that it was a factory combination.

If you are dead set on a 5 speed, or T-5 upgrade, you can get a factory bellhousing for your vehicle, the transmission you want to convert to from the junkyard, and pay a local machinist with fabrication ability to make an adaptor plate for the rear of the bellhousing to mate it together.

Just sayin'...
