I'm moving my car into some space at my machine shop this weekend to start working on getting the transmission mounted. I have sub frame connectors to weld in that I'm going to use to mount the transmission crossmember to. Then I can button up the tunnel. I'll post some pictures once I make a little more progress.

Ive seen some blurbs online different places using (yeah I know a 5 speeed, not 6) a W58 and adapting it to different engines, it is an "AISIN" brand trans largely used by Toyota.... If I could get past "a Toyota 'ANYTHING' in my Dodge"? I'd think of trying that idea.... I had tripped across that thought when scoping out my Volare build (which is stuck in neutral)
My "hangup" is that I wouldn't take a Toyota anything as a daily driver even if it were free........ not sure I knowingly want parts of one in my vehicles, either
I thought about it again last fall as there was a W58 trans on CL then.......

Seems like there was a place in Australia (Castlemain Rod Shop?) that made an adapter plate to put a W58 behind a Slant. I would have no trouble with Toyota parts in my car if they are decently easy to source/repair and reliable (pretty much a given with Toyotas).

I would be cool with 'yota parts in my car.
I have ford parts in there now - which are not really ford part they are borg warner / tremec.

Does the 6 speed have a gear (5th) between the say 0.61:1(6th) and 1:1 (4th)

No, 5th is1:1 ,& only 6th is an OD. This is what l've always wanted, a low propshaft speed & well spaced gears deep enough to not need a high rear ratio. I plan on using the 8.8 IRS I've got with the 3.27's in it. The one thing l hate about steep gears is the extra driveline vibes. Early in this thread Casey listed the ratios.

Thanks I will have to look at those ratios. Must be sweet close ratios I imagine.
