Has anyone on here fabricated your own linkages using rod ends? I’m thinking about making my own but I don’t want to reinvent the wheel. Or does anyone have a set of A body overdrive linkages.

Hey Rick, I was going to do that, but smaller rod ends are a little hard to find the right tubing.
S&W might have what you need.

It's probably better / more accurate to make your own as most of the factory rods can be quite worn.

I bet you can get a new or nicely reconditioned set from brewer's.

I try to tighten up the rods on my cars but they are wallered out and the nubs are too small and the holes are too big going on 50+ years old now.

I have a set of 833OD shift rods that are going on my 66 when the time comes. If you need photos/measurements shoot me a PM. I can't get photos to post here no matter how hard I try...

Thanks, I decided just to make the one long rod that was not in too good of shape. I just have to weld an end on and get a shoulder bolt and I should be good. Eventually I will make a set of rod with rod ends on it, but this will get me going for now.

You might find some at a swap meet also.

Actually I feel like I can build a better piece than the stamped factory pieces. Time will tell shortly. :D :D
