Hi all --

Well, I think I'm about to buy an absolutely BEAUTIFUL '61 Lancer, with the 903 on the floor. When I test drove it, the tranny was pretty tired. If I gotta replace, I'd rather just swap in an OD.

Question is, which?

I already have an extra aluminum bell housing and clutch/pp for an A/F body OD, and a bead on either the 833OD or a T5.

What would be simplest and least invasive?

Understanding that the transmission originally in the '61 was canted to the side like the engine, would swapping the 903 out require cutting the floor (I don't want to if it can be helped, as the floor is perfect, and I'd like to use the original shifter)? Would I be able to re-use any of the rods and other elements?

Thanks for any and all advice!

The T5 has an integral shifter....

Either way you will need to cut the floor.....
