Car Model: 72 Dart Swinger
Howdy yall. I recently got a 72 dart swinger 225 w/ a 3 on the tree. Ive noticed in the mornings, i have a very hard time going from 1st to 2nd, or vice versa. This isnt grinding the gears, its the actual shifter not wanting to go back and forth on the H pattern.

Anyone ever run into this before?

Lift the hood, locate shift linkage (rods and levers sandwiched that convert rotational motion to linear rod movement) at end of steering column, than have someone row through the gears while observing that mechanism in action. It could be it just needs a good cleaning and some fresh lubrication, and or new lower steering shaft bearing to keep things aligned, or a rebuild of those moving parts.

How many miles on the car?
