So this is the second time I've had to pull this transmission in 14 years (not bad). First time was for input bearing, and threw a clutch at it while I had it out. The snap ring on the input shaft broke in half and couldn't find the right part easily so I made it work with two narrower snap rings. Well I got the dreaded grinding again so I pulled the trans and found the snap ring on the input shaft had snapped again (both of them) It also tore up the washer that goes behind it, I may be able to make the washer work again, but the snap ring seems to be impossible to find! I was also looking into just rebuilding this trans while I have it out this time, but cannot seem to find a reliable source for the rebuild kits. At least havent found one that has actually called me back. Is this just a completely dead line of transmission? I really like the novelty of the three on the tree and would like to fix what I have. I've had this car since I was 17 and really want to get it back to it's former glory!

this would be a a real long shot,

but try calling Brewer's and/or Jamie Passion

both of those shops specalize in A833's but they are both great to work with and they may have a lead on mopar 3 speed tranny parts.

another option is to put an ad up:on .org, on FABO, on Moparts,,, looking for a A903,
there is probably someone swapping one out for a 4speed....

Just pulled a good A903 out of my truck that I would get rid of cheap if you are interested. Worked fine except the shifter was junk, just wanted another gear so I am swapping in a 4 speed. PM me if you are interested.

903 from a truck might not fit an A Body due to tailshaft / output length.

If poster is okay with swapping output shafts and tail housings then maybe it's an option.
