I have a 225 with a 250* cam, 10.6:1 CR, big valves, ported head, etc. and a 3200 converter. Do I need to modify an aftermarket V8 flex plate or will a stocker be OK? I do plan to race a bit.

I bought a real nice V-8 one from 440source that is literally 2 times as thick as the stock one. I have had trouble with them coming loose at the convertor bolts and the stock ones wearing at the holes. This one has a solid body too. No large cutouts on it.

I get a sb sfi approved one, one of tje crank holes would need to be re drilled as its off. The other 5 holes line up.

After drilling i welded the offset hole shut.

Lots of loctite red on crank bolts as well as converter bolts.

If you look through the ruster thread it probably documented there.

The one I got is the SFI one without the sticker. It is the exact same one according to their site and is $20 less without a sticker.

I have drilled flywheels and flexplates for V-8 to fit the Slant 6 and never welded up the holes. Since it is close to the centerline of the crank it does not affect the balance near as much as if it was further out. Not saying you should not weld your up, just that I didn't and didn't notice any problems.

Rick, does that one work with the 904. I have heard of some of them interfering with the starter. I think you are using a 904. Correct?

I have one of the Mopar Performance ones. I egged the one bolt hole out with a die grinder and called it a day.

I got some of the Cox Bros/MP ones from Mike when I acquired his stuff. They welded the hole up and redrilled it.

With the flywheel bolts in they look identical.

Make sure that whatever one you get has the correct size holes for your converter bolts.

John and Jim parted ways Ron. I saw Jim a couple years ago at the Indy Cylinder Head swap meet. He still has a little Slant stuff, but not a whole lot. I have his number somewhere. If I find it I'll pm it to you.
