If any body is going to Carlisle in July for car show let me know. I would like to meet you. It looks like my car will not be running until then, at least that is how it feels.

I started a disc brake change over today and for the guys that do this in their driveway I don't see how you do it. It took me 4 hrs just to get the old stuff off. Then getting to the brake lines is just stupid, I ended up just cutting the lines and mounting the block in a different spot.

I also did some measuring and if anybody wants some nice wheels for their Dart the 16x8 back and the 16x7 front wheels from a conquest fit nicely and look even better! I will post some pics when the front wheels are on.

bronze valve guides, are there any advantages over the iron ones for a street car??
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, D.B. Change overs are a lot of work, sounds like your committed now!

As for the valve guides, go bronze, not that much more $$ and they are harder and last longer.

Hey Andrew,

I'll be in Carlisle in July, most definitely! I want to drive my Dart to the show this year (usually took my dad's wagon for parts haulin').

On the disc brake swap: I did the Stainless Steel Brakes swap last summer, and I ran into all kinds of problems. I also noticed that the suspension was in bad shape, so I re-did that. When all was said and done, I had been without a car for a month. Good luck!

PS Unless some improvements were made to it since I ordered mine, I do not recommend the SSBC kit. It works fine, but there were lots of little issues with the assembly of it.

Hey Andrew,

I'll be VERY interested to see your pics of the Conquest wheels. I am looking for good 15s-17s for my road racer '64 Dart, and am having trouble finding the right offset in aftermarket wheels. If you could measure the backspacing (inner mounting flange to inner edge of wheel), that would be fantastic too. Maybe I'll make a junkyard run in the next few weeks. 16X7 (4-4.5" backspace) or 16X8 (4.5-5" backspace) would be perfect for me.

Thanks mucho,

Lou
