I have done the HEI conversion with a Blaster coil and the ballast removed, and it worked fine (on the street so far). Now I want to do another but have not yet purchased a coil. I have a good Accel Super coil (the old 140001) laying around and I am wondering if it will work okay in the same conversion (ballast removed)?

What's the primary resistance of the Blaster coil?

What's the primary resistance of the Accel super coil?

If it's the same, I don't see any problems with it working.

Well, the Super Coil factory numbers are 0.7 ohms primary and 11.8K ohms secondary, but I have no idea about the Blaster. Guess I will give it a try.

I have a 140001 on my HEI conversion and it works just fine. It's an old, heavily used coil and has stood up well.
