I just ordered this digital tachometer to install on my 66' D300. I just want to make sure that I understand the installation properly. The gauge has a red (switched +), black (dedicated ground), and green (tachometer control wire).

I want to confirm that I should run the green wire to the negative side of the ignition coil.

Thanks

Scott

Yes, the green to the coil negative. The instructions do not appear to take into account points ignition until the end of section 2. and states:
"Tachometer Filter : It may be necessary to use a Tachometer Filter if you vehicle has an points style ignition system. You can purchase a Tachometer Filter from www.GlowShift.com or an Authorized Dealer."

Honestly, if it doesn't work properly with points they have gone really cheap with the tachometer circuitry. I would look elsewhere myself.

FYI- not to rain on your parade, but I tried a glow shift oi lpressure gauge once and was less than impressed wit htheir quality. I hope you have better luck, but you shouldn't be surprised if the tach has problems. Gloshift has some good gauge mouting products, though.
