Hi,

As I have been looking at my bellhousing and starter it appears that I need to get specific bolts, not just something from the hardware store, due to chamfer and fit issues. Is this the case? I Googled and came up with some from Summit Racing.

Sincerely,

Paul Barrow

The starter fasteners aren't special and can be grade 8, and the lower one is typically a stud/washer/nut and the other a bolt to hold the starter... the stud can be gotten from an autoparts store
that has the orange dorman hardware bins....

The starter nose fits into a pocket in the bell so that it's positioned accurately. The bolts just hold it down.
