Approximate cost?

$2800

I know someone who has one in his possession. It is yet to be seen if the unit ever makes it onto a running car. From what I have seen (Just a quick look) it looked really decent.

Holy moly!

I was originally thinking NA then going to turbo a bit later, but now I may need to reconsider some NA static/compression ratios and consider a bolt-on supercharger.

Would this unit still work with A/C? I imagine the blower pulley would be going where the stock compressor would go... that may be my only limiting factor. Relocating the A/C compressor and alternator may be an option, though.

I've seen some interesting dyno videos of a supercharged Aussiespeed car, which made very little power (still substantially more than stock), but made over 400 lb/ft of torque at the wheels. It was likely a limitation of the head or the bottom-end build that kept the motor from spinning fast enough to make some significant top-end horsepower, but wondering if this is going to be a similar design.

Either way, I'll be watching! :)

Rick,

Maybe my Project V can be a test mule for that kit you have laid eyes on??? In any case, I am thinking this might be a nice upgrade for that motor/car...

Ryan has one that he is going to put on his Dart once the restoration is complete. Probably mid year 2018 I would guess. Ryan has not posted about his Dart, but I have put eyes on it a couple times. It should be a sweet ride. 72 swinger Drag / Road race car. Front coil over/rack & pinion steering, rear 4 link, mini tubbed, and all the body stiffening you can think of. Power train will be a fuel injected Slant 6, blower motor, backed up by a Passon 5 speed with new 4.56 rear gear and huge tires. Body work is nearly done and it should be ready for paint sometime soon I would guess.

Wow, cool! I better hurry up and spruce up the turbo car. I have many of those things on my list for this winter... I am still thinking about the TorqStorm and looking into that for the V.

Hi Dennis,

Based my turbo car testing, I'd say somewhere around 275-350 RWHP with the right overall combo and buildup. I am not sure how cam and things like that will affect things differently, but my car has made around 275 RWHP on 9 psi. That is with an old shortblock (170k miles), 8.6:1 SCR, Jeffrey head, MP 244 cam, and pretty conservative (pump gas and street friendly) timing and mixture settings.

My wheels are turning as well...

Lou

That might just be enough to put a 2700# Valiant into Super Pro without breaking anything....

Thinking of buying one of these and slapping it on a stock supersix, then drive it until she blows up. Would it work on a stock slant with 2bbl carb? and add what, like 40hp?

The holy $#!+ factor when popping the hood would be worth the $$$...

I suppose you'd need a 4 bbl intake manifold and a blow-thru carb...

After conversion to Canadian $$$, it would be cheaper to convert to a V8 using a donor car. And a crate motor. Hmm...

$2800 and no AC provision means I am not interested in one of these. A turbo lets you keep all stock accessories.

I hear ya, it's freaking hot this Summer. A supercharger is definitely on my wish list though, along with a million other things...

AC is not for hot rods. John Milner would never had allowed it.
