For those looking for better cylinder head clamping, I’m interested in having a run of studs made for the slant 6 in ARP 2000 material.
Looking over previous post, and talking with some of the members on this forum, a group purchase of these was made some years ago.

I emailed Martin Ramos, in charge of special projects at ARP, requesting a quote. His initial response surprised me. 1-100 pieces 40-60 dollars a piece.
If I had the part number and cost from the previous run, my guess is the price would come down considerably.
Hopefully someone has that information?

How many would like a set of these, given a fair price?

I'd take a set, with better group pricing, even if just to put on the shelf for now.

Hard to understand how 1-100 pieces is in the $4-6000 range.

Guess the tariff is working.

looks like that's a good bit cheaper than the ones summit has listed. what's the difference between the Pro and the 2000?

Are we talking complete sets, or talking individual studs?

Are you having trouble with head gasket sealing or breaking/stressing head studs already? The stock bolts are very strong and the regular ARP studs are stronger. Unless you are running 25+ psi of boost and making well north of 500 HP, I don't think the ARP studs should be any problem. One tip is to torque beyond the spec. I always torque my stock bolts to 85-90 ft-lbs and at least 80 on the (fine thread) ARP studs. I have had zero problems up to 15 psi and about 400 HP. Others have used the regular ARP studs up above 600 HP.

My understanding is the ARP 2000 material is 220,000 psi
The regularly available part number is 180,000 psi

There are several earlier posts about this topic.

For boosted applications, I feel that it’s prudent to use best studs available, rather than have to do the job again, along with replacement of parts.

Found the paperwork from Tom wolfe on the last group buy.

No specific part # but i will scan and post the info. There might be useful invoice or order #'s on there.

7 of us bought sets at $189 per set plus shipping.
That was in 2010.

I started lifting the head around 22 psi. I went with a copper gasket and the better studs together. Currently mid 30's on boost.

Sign me up for a set if it's close to what I paid last time. Actually was thinking it was more than $189.00 for some reason. Which $189 is pretty cheap for the boost I'm running.

How many buyers do we need for a $200 price tag?
