No I got the Slant 6 bell. GregCon found out that the 130T flywheel fit into the slant 6 Quicktime bell all along. Just need to move the starter out 1/2" and it should be good. See link here.

I just rec'd mine yesterday too. Very nice piece. Heavier than stock aluminum, but not too bad - 24 lbs for the bare bell. I can see why the 130T fly fits - lots of space in there. Looks like plenty of meat to relocate the starter. It also looks like the open centering hole is made for the T5 and similar trannys (5.125")...

I spent a little time yesterday and pulled the air jets out of the Webers and changed them from 190's to 195's, and left the fuel jet at 145. I ran 4 races at Wilkesboro 2 weeks ago and my air fuel was 11.3-11.4. The car ran great with no problems but it was rich. With the air jet change I made 2 blasts up the road and my A/F was at 12.1-12.3, and that seemed like a good place to leave it! :D

We had a good weekend at Wilkesboro with plenty of Runs between 4 races! This was really the first time I have got to run it a lot on the track and everything performed really well. My homemade front mandrel stayed tight and runs true after making about 12 full passes at 6100 rpm. Ran a best of 8.33 at 80.5 in 94+ degree temps! I was hoping to drop into the 8.20's but I was running faster than Norm and Rodney who have both been into the 12's. So that is a pretty good gauge of where I am.

When mine runs 8:30's it runs 13.0-13-teens, but I run a couple more mph than you.

It went 8.22 on both my 12.9X runs, 83mph.

Mine don't like the heat, that will put it down to the .40/.60 range. Leaning it out has helped.

I didn't get to go run anywhere at the races this Friday or Sat. so I went ahead and disassemble the 4.30 rear that Ryan grenaded about 5 years ago. I inspected the gears really well and they looked fine. Axle gears and spiders, not so much!! :( :( So I had Dr.Diff send me a new spool and I installed that last night and this morning. With 4.56's and 26 " tall tires I feel like I am running out of steam at the big end of the strip. Everyone I know running that deep of a rear gear has 28-30" tall tires. So I'll probably swap them in tomorrow afternoon just for fun.

4.30's have made it into the car and I ran it through the gears a couple times. Didn't hear any awful noises or have any pieces fall out on the floor. :D :D

So I have 2 weeks to get the Tahoe packed up and ready to travel. I plan on getting there Friday to run Test & Tune. Let me know about where you all are planning to park.

Had a nice trip to Clay City and made some good runs in the car. Car did not see a 12 second slip yet but was awfully close. :D :D It ran it's best time of 13.05 @ 99.24 and best 1/8 mile of 8.19 @ 82 MPH. Best 60' was 1.72. This was all with the 4.30 gear instead of the 4.56's. I can never remember to look at my A/F gauge but I did finally on one pass and it was 12.9-13.1. I don't like making changes at the track and so I ran it without making any changes all weekend.

I continue to try and find new ways to lose even though I am trying to give up on the Red light thing! In the first round Saturday against Brian Mimken I left with a .080 light and just as I got to the about 1/8 mile mark the hood popped up and caught on the safety latch!! For just about a split second I was going to run it out but decided to hit the brakes and exit the track at the first exit. I figured that was better than wrapping the hood up over the windshield and roof at 100 MPH!! :D I'm pretty sure that Brian thought I was just lost and couldn't find my way to the end of the 1/4 mile!!

Car ran pretty consistent and if we have some good air at Mason Dixon next month I may just get that 12.99.
Friday T&T it ran a 13.16, 13.21,13.18 & a little off 13.39
Saturday it ran a 13.05, 13.07
Sunday it ran a 8.24 , 8.23 in the 1/8th

For the next race I want to put a WOT cut off on the Alternator and do a couple little Aero things out front to try and keep the air from going through the splash pan and under the car. Also may richen it up just a tiny bit. Ryan really wanted me to pull off my hood and run it since he gained .2 simply by removing his hood. Maybe next time!! :D :D

Ordered some micro switches and made a little bracket to hold it in place. There happens to be a boss with a set screw on the Weber carbs that has something to do with the choke I think. We are not using that for anythin since you really don't need a choke on the Webers. So it made a place to install the bracket I made. I took a 3/8" collar and ground one side of it down, and mounted it to the end of the throttle linkage shaft, so that when it rotates it deactivates the sense wire to my alternator. I tried it out and with the engine running at @ 4000 RPM I tripped the switch and watched my voltage. Voltage is about 13.9V when operating normally. I tripped the switch and watched my voltage drop. It took over 17 seconds for the voltage to drop below 13 volts. Since I run in the 13's that gives me a 4 second cushion of voltage over 13V to make a run on. I'll put a little paint and some wire loom around it later.

Now tomorrow, I will try and make some panels to block off some of the splash pan. :D :D
