It was test and tune night at Monroe tonight. So we took the Duster up to get some seat time before Vegas. It ran a best of 11.243/46.3 in the 1/8. Not bad, at least I won't be the slowest at Vegas.

It is a lot easy to run an auto then a 4 speed. Stab, steer and turn right when done. By the way, the Dart is 3 seconds faster...

The Wallace Racing calculator says I am putting out a 119 hp...

Actually no, I have dozens of pictures of the Dart and none of the Duster. Nothing much to look at, it's just a plain white Duster with green interior and black steel rims. The only thing note worthy is that previous owner had a set of 14x7" steel rims made up and they are on back with a set of p235x60x14 TA's.

Last week Vegas, this week Monroe. This is becoming a regular thing now. Today Deb did the driving. Her first time. Best time of 11.083/46.8 mph, and she came in second place in her class.

Her best run was for the "money", way to go Hon...

Now to finish the new and improved "headers" on the Dart.

Kevin rode with me on my practice runs.. After the first one, I looked at him and said "OMG!!! I've got the bug!! Now you get your car fixed if you wanna race!!" :) He's got a 65 Dodge Dart that he's redoing the muffler on.. Re routed the pipes for it.. I can't wait to do it again :)

Kevin and I raced again at the Evergreen Speedway in Monroe.. He got 1st in his class and I took 3rd in mine.. We're putting a new muffler on my car and rebuilding the carb to make it go faster.. You know I actually cancelled a trip to the ocean to use those funds to make my car better for racing!! What's happening to me? ;)

Rick, do you have any of the pink shirts left? I'm assuming they're a high percentage of cotton, so I'd need a 2X. Please let me know..

Thanks..
Debbie

Deb's fastest was 10.9, she improved about a .10 per run. Which is great, I guess it's time to make the car faster, so off to the muffler shop for some 2 1/2" pipe and a quite muffler.

My fastest was 9.1 which is slow for the Dart. But I did outrun a 360 powered Ram in the final. I left first and he broke out, but we both reached the finish at the same time.

I changed the head pipes on the Dutras and slowed down. I guess removing some kinks and lengthening the head pipes increased the air flow. This leaned out the carburetor above 4000 rpms. Time to but in the next bigger secondary jet.

9.1 is starting to get pretty fast for a street driven car. Congrats on your hard work paying off!

Lou
