Greg congrats on getting the new tranny to do its thing. Times look good and very consistent. Is this the first time you have used the Transbrake?
See you in M-D.

Ron

Thanks Ron!

No, I don't have a transbrake - At least not yet - I might be getting one sometime.

It's Just Aluminum Drums, And Roller Bearings etc.
Hope to see you soon in Maryland.

it's Hard For Me to tell any seat of the pants Difference - The old Transgo TF3 Valve body is still a bit squirrley beteen 2-3 But the 1-2 Shift will snap your neck - It has a lower first gear now which hits the tires harder and has a wider spacing between 1-2 of course so you really feel it!

Post subject:  5-13-16 Mason Dixon test and tune

I made 5 runs tonight. At Mason Dixon test and tune.

11.94
11.92
11.87
11.87
11.87
Mph was 111.xx with a few 112.xx

Air was average so I expect to pick up a few tenths maybe in the fall or at clay city sometime.

I also am within 1.5 mph of the B/Gas 1/8 mile M.P.H. record as well as 2 tenths of the B/Gas 1/8 mile E.T. record.

That's exciting for me.

Post subject:  5-15-16 Spring Mason Dixon Success and Failure.

Hello All.
In Total I was able to Make 15 Passes during the race weekend.

Everything seemed to be flawless until the end of the Day on Sunday when Cool down times were at a minimum.

I was able to make it to the final round for Race I and then in the Final the Valve body / not Shifting to 3rd gear problem was back again when the car was being hot lapped.

Race 2 was more of the same - As the Car gets hotter it runs faster and better, but I was not able to make it to round 3 of Race 2 due to Trans problems and I also Lost Reverse somehow.. It could be to the high temps that I subjected the car / transmission to as I was going rounds.

Anyway with all of that trouble the Low gear, Aluminum Drums and Roller Pieces from A&A Really helped to drive down ET's and MPH UP!

Here are some Personal Best Numbers for Ruster To date:

1/8 Mile: 7.45 @ 92.18 - This is About .15 off the B Gas ET Record and I have Broken the the MPH Record, but this was not an 1/8 Mile race so no record set. - No 1/4 Mile Splits allowed! I am okay with that.

1/4 Mile: 11.733 @113.96 - Personal Best and Ecstatic about it, but no records there.

I am sure there are more good things to come.
I will delve into the Valvebody / trans problem Soon!

Post subject:  Trans rebuild again 6-1-16

I got the trans out of the car and apart.

I got a new forward pattern manual valve body from A&A Transmission to install.

I also found that the low/reverse band was burned up.. the lining was gone.. I am not sure what happened there... I also bought a new low/ reverse aluminum drum... the old one was pretty nasty after the band was against it with no lining.

I got the Transmission re assembled - Just have to install it in the car now.

It turned out that I most Likely Did not back off the Low- Reverse Band the correct amount of turns on the Last assembly. - Costly mistake !&^
I am pretty sure I remember only backing the Band off 2 turns for both front and rear band, This time I made sure that I did it correct!

I will also Be installing the PTC Converter back in the car..
From My old data, this one should 60' Better then the Coan Converter that Will Supplied me with.

We shall see!

The A&A Forward pattern manual valve body is great. Nice and smooth with quick shifts.

Running solid 11.80s at Pittsburgh, with poor to okay air.

Looking forward to the mopar event here next weekend and Bristol in 2 weeks.
If I get to a "fast" track with good air, I could be into the 11.60s.

My second test run was almost idemtical to some of my best runs from mason dixon spring 2016. But that was just in the first 1/8th mile.. the air will not support the 1/4 mph and et's that I had last month.

It's just a bit better.same 60' times. With much worse air.. and right off the trailer 60' were just as fast as ever. Usually the first pass is a throw away for my car, but the 60' was right on.

I really need to get another custom converter built for this car.
