Indeed it is!

The Duster and I got called out for a heads up grudge match at Knoxville, TN in a couple weeks.

Isaiah Bruner has taken the wheel of Meril Bruner's 81 D50 Funny Truck and posted on Facebook that we'd be running heads up.

It should be fun. The cars are very evenly matched, running 9.10-9.20 in the 1/8 mile. I need to practice my starts... :)

Thanks! We'll see if Isaiah has been properly mentored by Meril and Lukus.

Knoxville may be the last Slant 6 race for me and the Duster if the Challenger debut goes okay...

(Me & Meril got us a little trade worked out... )

Fun times at Ohio Valley test & tune last night!

The Duster ran exactly what it always does. 452 ft elevation drops the ET just a smidge from other higher tracks. It ran 8.90-9.02 on seven passes.

It likes to hit the starting line at about 190* coolant temp. If it goes to the line at 210* it hurts the 60 ft and ET by about a tenth. Very predictable car!

Chase took the wheel and made three passes (9.027, 8.934 and 8.902) with each pass getting better at the burnout and launch. His last pass he cut a .0947 light.
I thought he could go for that Rookie thing at Knoxville, but I just checked the records and he raced at two weekends in 2012 (Woodburn, OR and Clay City, KY). That puts him out of the running for Rookie of the Year. :(

That brings us to his little brother, CJ. I showed CJ how to drag race with Angie's CRV (Yes, she is okay with it. ) He would have raced the Duster last night, but had to take his girlfriend home. He will take the wheel at Knoxville.

The Duster ran great at the Knoxville race with Chase winning two rounds Friday night, me taking out Isaiah in our grudge match and CJ learning to drag race. 8.90s to 9.0s all weekend long as usual.

Last night I found the no start issue we had. Just a loose wire at the ignition switch. I started to replace some other wires to see if I could get the tach to work more consistently, but both Chase and CJ said they never looked at it anyway... I'll fiddle with that later I guess...

Tonight at Ohio Valley we will put Angie in it to show her the ropes.

I'll buy some methanol for the Challenger tonight while I'm there. It's "Go Time" on that one, whether I'm ready or not!

Test & tune went well again. Same 8.90-9.10 as always. Chase, CJ and I took turns making passes.

I got 15 gallons of moonshine for the Challenger while I was there.

Absolutely! I’ve had this car for 10+ years and it has always been steadfast. It deserves better than what I give it.

Other than a sticky front float and tach not working, the Duster fired right up & said, "I'm yer huckleberry... again..." :D

I'll be taking the Challenger to London, KY this weekend, but I may hit some local races before the season is over to show the Duster it's still loved...
