More weight = More down force= more traction! :D Think positive thoughts! :D :D

Positive thoughts on wheels: The “wheel guy” in Louisville apparently sees this all the time and it comes from people putting that green slime stuff in their slicks hoping to slow down the leak down thing slicks are prone to.

Fingers crossed that my wheels can be saved by bead blasting the corrosion and then powder coating them. If all goes well I will get them back next week.

Those wheels had dawn dish washing liquid put in them to help sealing that didn’t work. One of the late Dale Roses ideas that did not work very well.

I asked about the Dawn thing and he said that doesn’t do it. Hopefully I’ll be okay and the powder coating will take care of things.

It looks like the wheels can be saved, but I may need to run tubes because of the oxidation around the bead area preventing a good tire seal. I'm good with that. Replacing those wheels is expensive compared to about $100 for bead blasting and powder coating.

I'm disappointed I wasn't able to get the Challenger buttoned up in time for the Racer's Reunion, but it just wasn't to be. Hopefully for Mason-Dixon or Knoxville depending on how the points battle for the Championship goes...

I picked up the powder coated rear wheels today. I will need to run tubes now.

Ohio Valley has test & tune until mid November, so I will still try to get the Challenger done “this year”...

I didn’t make any test & tunes in 2018, but I did finally clean the garage and get back to work on the Challenger. I’m reinstalling the fuel lines now and looking at another couple minor changes to fittings and hoses.

The clutter in the garage was discouraging me from getting much work done. Now I actually want to go work out there again. Now that it’s 25*...

I got the fuel lines cleaned and reinstalled tonight. I shortened the return line by 18”.

I got the fitting I needed to join the fuel cell to the pump in the wrong 8AN size. It’s 10AN.

I also remounted the radiator about 1.5” further back so it would clear the new radiator support that really isn’t that anymore. It just mounts the front of the fenders now (and is about 12 lbs lighter  )

I’m just about ready to add fluids and take it up to Howard’s for start up!

Thanks again for the call and kick in the pants Howard.
