Car Model:
My first time at the track, and probably Mr. Duster's first time too.

Mr Duster is a bone-stock 1974 Duster that I purchased for $325 from a local. Everything on the car was original, and worked when I got it, including the 8-track.

The rear 7 1/4 died very soon, and I swapped in an 8 3/4 out of a Challenger. I replaced all the front bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends with Moog rubber replacements.

I swapped in a Super Six setup using all stock parts and a Carter BBD off my 318 pickup. Ran so much better after that.

Rebuilt the distributor and recurved it (took out heavy spring) and set timing at 35* BTDC.

New plugs, cap, rotor, wires, pickup coil, reluctor, ECU, coil, ballast.

Summary of equipment:

1974 Duster 225 /6
Engine: all stock
Timing: 35* BTDC with heavy spring removed
Intake: Super 6
Exhaust: Stock
Trans: Stock 904
Rear axle: 8 3/4, 3:55 gear.
Tires: 205/60/R15 Capital V-rated.

First ever time slip:

R/T: .126
60': 2.801
330: 8.066
1/8: 12.458
MPH: 56.02
1000: 16.275
1/4: 19.536
MPH: 69.13

I made 5 passes.

Best ET: 19.440
Best R/T: .010
Best 60': 2.770
Best MPH: 69.32.

RPM at the 1/4 was about 3500 after a 2-3 shift at 3900 or so.

The tech guys were amazed at the leaning tower of power.

On the go. Beat him off the line but slower again.

Edit: One thing I forgot to add in the specs is I'm running an electric fan setup instead of a mechanical fan.
