Went to the new 1/8 mile track in Green Cove Springs, Fl, on Sun. At the present time they are just doing TnT on Sat and Sun. Took my Green 66 Valiant. Got in 8 runs (could have done more), best was a 8.21 at 81.3 mph. At the end of the day, as I was getting ready to load up they called me over the PA system. Asked me if I was up to a heads up match race with another car (older Olds), for cash money. I went for it. One run and done for the money. Cut a .006 light and put him away with a 8.49 . The 66 Valiant won it's first money ($1.00 )

The track is pretty neat. The anouncer keeps up Chatter to keep the spectators interested. When I pulled in the gate, the anouncer said" here comes another new car that hasn't been here before. That green one on the trailer. I don't really know what it is". :(

They have a $50 doller bonus for the first car any day that cuts a perfet light. $50 for a dialing for dollars, and $50 for any car that breaks the track record. No additional entry fee. Traction still leaves something to be desired, but they are working on it. Next year they will have lights for night racing (summertime down here is brutial during the day). They will have a regular IHRA bracket point series.

The rest of you are pattin' him on the back, but I'm gonna point out that there's no pics, and worse, no video, so what evidence do we have that he was even there? :P
(Charlie......hint, hint)

I trust Charlie more than pics/video on the web... He is an inspiration to get out there and race...

Yeah, I don't know where that came from. I'm only allowed one double 0 light per year. I thought I had used it up at Mason Dixon with a 008 in a time shot against Rodneys 002

You misunderstand, Lou.......I'm not saying Charlie isn't honest. I'm saying I want to live vicariously through his, (and other's), accomplishments. (Hence the request for pics or vids.)

I don't have any pics. or video. I am too tech challenged to post them. I can take pics with my wifes camera, then I can't figure out what to do next. Plus I am usually at the track by myself. That makes it hard to take pics. However, if you haven't seen it, here is a good youtube video, taken at Mason-Dixon in 2012, that has both my cars.

Took the 66 Valiant to the track, yesterday. Wanted to make sure it is ready for M-D, as last time out, a friend was driving, and he said the engine didn't "feel" right. First pass on motor, felt OK. 9.45 at 71.7 mph. Turned on the nitrous, and made another pass. 1.762 sixty ft, 1st gear fine, then got into a wierd misfire, so I got out of it. Best way to describe it would be like a "flutter", not a dead cyl, or poping and banging. Checked the ign system, and changed plugs, and went for another run. A 1.782 sixty ft, and then the same thing. When I picked up my time slip, I was informed I had a trans leak. Yup, have a pretty good drip. Need to check that out. Not sure, what I'm going to do about M-D. Long way to go, if the car isn't right, and the Barracuda has a bad piston.

Make sure you do not have a piece of "junk" stuck in one of the N2O system jets... that will make the engine "flutter" as you discribed.
