I would not kid about something like this.
I did 4 oil changes yesterday and today.
Last change the oil looked just like it went in, so at least I got the oil passages flushed.
Head is ready to come off and go to the machine shop.
I am taking the V1 head also for another .050 shave and installation of 11/32 stem valves.
I am tired.

And of course the fuel pump is acting weird.
My friend asked me if the Colt was Haunted.

So you are thinking that the cylinder head is cracked?

I like milkshakes, but not that kind.

I had the same issue when one of the cylinder blocks for Ruster formed cracks at the bottom of # 5 & 6 cylinders and let some coolant into the oil.

that was on a well run 0.104" over non filled block.

Best of luck getting it worked out.

I wish I could fly down there and help you work on it a bit.

Greg

I got the last years head to the machine shop today.
11/32 stem valves, bronze wall guides, and another 50 mill on the surface.

We talked about the other head, he wanted me to bring it up and pressure check it.
He didn't like the copper head gasket deal, his thought was that the gasket was at fault.

I looked at the gasket after I removed the head and I didn't see any water path with my eye.
I looked the head over pretty well also, nothing I could see.

I might take it up later later and see if it's the problem, but at this point not sure how or if I would fix it.

Can you use a good composite gasket on a block that has been O ringed? I don't know. Ryan has run the big bore Aussie gasket at over 13 to without problem.

After all this work I think I would fill the cooling system first then pressure test without running it and with out oil in it.

I am trying to picture a crack in the head getting to the oil pan? :?: Most cracks are from porting I would guess. And that would end up being expelled in the exhaust or sucked in and burnt. I need to look at my heads and gaskets tomorrow!

So sorry for all your problems Stan! Hang in there.
