Don't have to have it, and in no big hurry, but I am keeping my eyes open for a small plastic gas tank for my car. Mine is at least 12 gallons maybe 15. If I can drop down to a smaller tank, maybe 5 - 8 gallon I can save a lot of weight. Yes I can just run a half tank, but I like to keep the tank pretty much full. Got to be cheap too!! :D :D

If you are just talking empty weight, I wouldn't think an 8 gallon tank would weigh much less than a 15 gallon tank.
The 7 gallon difference would be 42lbs.

Brand new 5 gallon aluminum ones on Ebay for under $60. 2.5 gallons for $50 So if I don't find a used plastic one for $20-30 I'll just get one of them.

The smaller tank will be less likely to have the fuel slosh away from the pickup for a given amount of fuel.
